Weston Aviation Wins BACA Award

Weston Aviation is delighted to have been awarded the FBO/Handling Agent of the Year 2016 at the annual BACA Excellence Awards held at the Guildhall in London on the 19th October 2016.

This is a fantastic achievement for all our FBO teams to be recognised by industry colleagues and who work so hard on a daily basis to ensure the highest levels of service.

Accepting the award was Becky Carver, Managing Director UK.

 

Weston Aviation attending ACE’16

Weston Aviation will be attending  ACE’16 (Air Charter Expo) at London Biggin Hill Airport on the 13th September. Previously known as BGAD, this is a showcase for business aviation related companies and airports to meet. There will also be a comprehensive range of business aircraft on static display.

The Weston Aviation team on stand will be Nick Weston – CEO, Becky Carver – Managing Director UK and Helene Wall-Horan- Managing Director Ireland to showcase our 5 UK and Irish FBOs. (Durham Tees Valley, Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield,  Humberside International, Cornwall Airport Newquay and Cork Airport.)

Weston Aviation Appoints New Commercial Director

Eddie Allison

Weston Aviation is delighted to announce the appointment of Eddie Allison as Commercial Director. Eddie will be responsible for the growth and development of the company’s five UK and Ireland FBO locations and business aviation services. With over 30 years background in business aviation and airport management, Eddie brings to the company extensive knowledge and experience from previous director and management roles with Prestwick Airport, Ocean Sky, RSS Aviation and Landmark Aviation.

Commenting on the appointment, CEO of Weston Aviation, Nick Weston said “I am delighted that Eddie has joined the company and to have someone of his calibre joining our senior management team. This is an exciting appointment for us as we continue to grow and develop our FBO network and range of aviation services within our current five locations”.

Weston Aviation is the second largest chain of FBO operations in the UK and Ireland in terms of locations. In September 2015, Weston Aviation opened its first international Business Aviation Centre in Cork, Ireland, taking the company into Europe. Formed in 1995, Weston Aviation now has FBO locations at Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield, Durham Tees Valley Airport, Humberside Airport and Cornwall Airport Newquay in addition to Cork Airport.

Weston Aviation Welcomes new MD Ireland

Weston Aviation is very pleased to announce the appointment of our new Managing Director Ireland, Helene Wall-Horan. Helene joins Weston Aviation to oversee the development of the Irish Operation in addition to heading up our newest International FBO at Cork Ireland.

Helene brings many years of experience in business aviation. Having started her career in commercial aviation with Ryanair, she then moved to ground operations with Servisair until 1998. She then joined EMC Aviation Corporate flight department where she was part of the management team for 17 years.

Helene is one of the original founding members of The Irish Business & General Aviation Association where she also held the role of CEO for 3 years.

We wish her every success in her new role.

We recently announced the fifth addition to our FBO network at Cork Airport, and we will be using this event to promote our superior FBO facilities including a private hangar and ramp.

Weston Aviation Opens new FBO in Cork

Weston Aviation has signed a long term contract to open a new Business Aviation Centre and FBO at Cork International, Ireland. The Business Aviation Centre at Cork Airport is Weston Aviation’s first venture outside the UK as the company takes up residence at the executive hangar and office facility at the airport. This will be the first time that executive aircraft can avail of a hangar service at Cork Airport through Weston Aviation’s own hangar facility.

Already operating at four UK airports, Weston Aviation offers fixed based operations (FBO) and cargo handling as well as aircraft fuel and support services. The opening of the Business Aviation Centre marks the company’s move to expand internationally and the new facility will be open for business during September. Weston Aviation will offer its full range of services including FBO services, long term and adhoc hangarage and concierge services.

Speaking about the new venture, Weston Aviation’s Managing Director, Nick Weston said:”Today’s announcement is an exciting one for Weston Aviation as we expand our business outside of the UK for the first time. We chose Cork Airport as our first international base for a number of reasons; key was the number of global businesses based in the region as well as the growing local economy. We believe that there is a real scope to significantly develop our client base in Ireland from Cork and to provide world class executive handling facilities at the airport as well as hangarage for aircraft up to super-midsize types. We are looking forward to welcoming our existing and new customers to our new Business Aviation Centre at Cork.”

He added:”We were also drawn to Cork Airport because of the size and structure of the airport as it is similar to that our our other airport partners, where we continuously reinvest to develop our business and have seen year on year growth and development”.

Mr Weston also announced that the company will be recruiting over the coming months.”We will be looking to initially recruit a team locally. These positions will be in sales, ground handling and administration and over the next two years we plan to expand the Irish team. It’s a very exciting time for Weston Aviation and we’re looking forward to growing our business at Cork Airport.”
